NEW CONNECT JOURNAL: HEBREWS AND GALATIANS

The Connect journal is continuing to power on as a tool to help believers connect with God on a daily basis. This unique journal is designed to help members of our churches to grow in their faith by providing a daily devotional journal which interacts with the reader at 3 levels......

  • The first level is an expositional question which prods the reader to examine the Scriptures more closely.
  • The second is a devotional question which seeks to connect the reader to God.
  • And the third is a discipleship question which seeks to help the believer make a practical application. The reader can work with any one questions each day, or use all if he so desires. Through it all, the spiritual journal conveys the values and ethos of our movement.

It is also designed for users to record their prayer items and answers to prayer. It also provides a personal growth section for users to plan areas of focus in their life. A wonderful tool for care groups to use to record prayer items and also to help each member to plan for personal growth.

Our latest offering covers the books of Hebrew & Galatians. The emphasis is on persevering in God and maintaining our freedom in God.

We produce 3 journals a year, each covering 4 months.

An Overview on the Book of Hebrews

“Christian, keep going! You have made the best choice!”

It is nice to be able to look back at life choices and know we have made the best ones. What about our faith in Jesus? Can we say we made the best choice? When pushed by hardships and difficulties, we may question our decisions. This was the case with the Jewish people of the Early Church.

Becoming Christian meant they did not follow the law of Moses anymore, making them very unpopular with the Jews who continued to embrace Judaism. Resulting persecution and hardship caused many new believers to be rattled in their faith and have second thoughts about whether Jesus and the new Christian way were worthwhile. The author skillfully reveals how Jesus is the true Messiah, and why the new way of worship through Him is totally consistent with God’s plan since Creation. The author proves that the old way is flawed compared with the new. He does this to reassure the Hebrew believers and help them continue to live out their Christian faith despite the challenges. The writer warns readers not to return to their old ways.

Choosing Jesus and becoming a Christian was the best decision you ever made! Let us continue to persevere in our faith despite any rejection or hardships on account of unbelieving friends or peers. Let us persevere until we see strong churches in our Hope Movement that include every ethnic group in the world!

An Overview on the Book of Galatians

The Christian life is a “call to freedom.”

Legalism, or trying to live the Christian life mechanically by sheer will power alone, will never please God. It never leads to joy in God. We need the empowerment of God’s Spirit to truly experience the great life God offers. In this pastoral epistle written by Paul, we see how he attempts to guard the church from the harm of legalism and to weed out misunderstandings that had deceived the Galatians believers.

Maybe you have not deliberately tried to go off track or to be legalistic, but somehow it has happened anyway. For example, we religiously go to prayer meeting, to church, to our fellowship group, or to missions day, but one day, we suddenly felt dry inside We find that we no longer have a burden for the lost. We do not know why we are doing things. The vision to plant churches is irritating. All forms of service are just another task or chore, and God seems far away. If you have felt like this, may the truth found in Galatians set you free, give you new direction, and bring you renewed joy as you partner with the Holy Spirit to learn His ways. The Gospel brings us true freedom, but we must make every effort to guard the truth we have found and remain in it.

It is ideal if we can use our freedom to bless others in our church family and spread the wonderful news of Jesus’ love all over the world.

Amen!
