PASTOR SIMON ENG MESSAGE

Dear brothers and sisters of our Hope family all over the world. I send you greetings once again in the name of Jesus, and in the will and purpose of what we endeavour to do together in fulfilling the Great Commission.

I greet you; we have just come fresh from the National Convention and our Global Conference for 2009. It has been a great and wonderful conference and convention that we’ve had. We had more than 1800 people gather together in Kuala Lumpur.

International delegates

We were represented by a lot of international delegates at this conference. We had people from Europe, we had people from the US, and we had people from Oceania. We had more than 40 Thai representatives from our HIM churches in Thailand. We had people from Taipei; we had people represented from the Philippines. Wow! This has been a great and wonderful time, and our pastors, our leaders from all over the world came as well. There were over 80 pastors, co-ordinators, and leaders of our churches from all over the world.

Moving on with God's vision

Praise God, at the mission meeting, we closed the year touching 39 countries at the moment and we have more than 120 churches all over the world, and our members and people are more than 10,000 all over the world as well.

So, God has done an amazing work and God has really been good to us. As we look back to this entire year of 2009, it has been a year of consolidation; it has been a year of stability. I am happy to tell you that our international churches, our national churches have all moved together with us.

God has really done an amazing work among us to keep our entire family together. In this conference and convention, we have not been just kept together, but we renewed ourselves in our core values. It involved re-teaching, re-visiting, it is highlighting and reminding ourselves again what our vision is, what our mission is and what our core values are. I am happy to report in the conference of 1800 people or more, we renewed ourselves to say we are moving on with God’s vision.

We are vision-driven

Our core values, if I may just highlight one; for example, one of them is that we are vision-driven. We are a vision-driven movement. We are not just building any kind of Christian work, but we are motivated with God’s vision. God’s vision is the Great Commission and we are endeavouring, mobilising our people all over the world, this one vision, common vision; moving on to plant churches is our strategy to fulfil the Great Commission and our people were excited. We had a wonderful time in this convention. The celebration, the presence of God was there.

The prophetic word about God wanting to really touch our movement gave us a fresh energy and a fresh touch of the spirit and of God again.

Uniting in the Great Commission

Brothers and sisters, I want to encourage all of you, as you read, as you hear what I am sharing, keep to our core values and our vision. We are here with the sole purpose of moving on in God’s vision: planting churches to fulfil the Great Commission. And all of our other ministries, whether you are in marketplace ministry, you are in drama, you are in politics or you are in other aspects of working in the kingdom; let us unite together to really build the church of Jesus Christ, to build it right, to build it biblical, so that it will be effective to really fulfil God’s vision. You know, we may be doing a lot of work, we may be busy, but we may not be aiming towards supporting together, uniting together in fulfilling this Great Commission.

I am calling for all of us to unite all our people around the world. I am urging you to work together with your pastors, your leaders so that we may really drive God’s vision ahead.

Building infrastructure for the harvest

We want to believe God that in the next year, we will look through our infrastructure, on what we are building the churches, the quality of our people and really making sure that we are preparing our church for the future harvest, the future years of abundance, of souls being brought into the Kingdom of God. We are preparing for that and of course, with that, we are also preparing for a time of persecution and so called leanness where we may be challenged greatly in our progress, in our declaration of the gospel and the work of God as well. So I am encouraging and urging you, dear brothers and sisters, let’s really have a time in the next year, ready for the future years, that our churches will be strong, our churches will capture the opportunities that God is going to open up for us to be able to move ahead.

Fasting and prayer for breakthrough

I call on all of us to arise in our heart and in our spirit. There was a prophetic word for us to rend our hearts, fast and pray, seek God and really ask the Lord for open heavens, open doors; to really ask the Lord to move in us greatly with his anointing and I believe it will happen. So for the month of January, in 2010, we are calling for a global fast and prayer among our churches. For the month of January, we are going to really come to the Lord and pray and fast and call out to the Lord for the fresh touch and the fresh beginning of the year and for our movement to continue to move ahead as well.

I invite all of you, January, 2010, keep that month, and keep that date in mind for us to seek God together.

Chiang Mai Global Conference (Jan 20-22, 2010)

We are also going to also have the Chiang Mai Global Conference. It is going to be in Thailand. The date is January 20-22, three days: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

So I am going to ask you once again, mark that in your calendar, look for the flights; join us there. We are going to talk about spiritual covering. There has been discussion and there is talk on whether we are sufficiently under spiritual covering. We are going to talk about this topic, looking at the Bible, discuss and really bringing this topic to the front, so that we all know that we are in proper spiritual covering. It will be in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Christmas greetings

Finally, my dear brothers and sisters all over the world, we are coming to the end of the year. I, my wife, my family and all our RMCs, our group heads, the leaders of our movement want to send you Christmas greetings.

Greetings from our Lord, our Saviour for a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful New Year in preparation for an effective and fruitful year ahead of us. I want to encourage every one of you to really look to the Lord because we are expecting great things to happen next year and building for the future years as well. God be with all of us as he has been through this entire year. We have seen wonderful consolidation and stability. We have seen our churches grow. We have seen our people who are committing themselves, coming to support and work together with the pastors.

So the Lord be with you and have a great and wonderful Christmas and New Year. See you next year. Amen.
