WORSHIP LEADING IN CARE GROUP (PART 2)

This is a two part teaching guide from Hope Bangkok Worship Ministry on "Worship Leading in care group". These teachings are guidelines: adjust them for your particular culture and setting. Please write to Pastor Prayuth Sarman, Hope Bangkok Workship Ministry if you have further questions.

E) Practical tips when leading Worship

1. Encourage the care group to use songs as a sacrifice and offer them to God

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. (Psalm 95:1-3)

Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. (Psalm 96:1)

2. Set a good example in worship; sing with all your heart, with all your might and with all your strength. Sing expressively with your focus on God

3. Do not overuse any song otherwise people will get bored, unless you sense this is God’s leading
.

4. Do not blame the care group but show your love and concern with sincerity

5. Do not over talk or try to preach during worship. If we need to speak, speak precisely with God’s anointing to inspire people’s heart

6. Open up your eyes and focus on the Holy Spirit, let the Holy Spirit lead you, smile to God and your member
.

7. Be responsible to prophecy, discern, encourage and lead your members to respond to the prophecy
.

8. If it is time to stop, we should never go beyond where the Holy Spirit leads

But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. (1Corinthians 14:40)

9. In the midst of worship, let God be the centre of the atmosphere (do not draw attention to yourself; do not focus on your members, or songs or music or the worship itself but focus on God)

F) Tips for the Musician (Guitarist) In the Care Group

1. Rehearse: it is very important to be well prepared for worship

2. Remember that we are serving God, not doing a performance to entertain people

3. Play the music with all your heart, express your feelings for God to honour Him

4. Pray for anointing and power

Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him. (1 Samuel 16:23)

5. During the ministering of the spiritual gifts, the musician needs to play music along in the same atmosphere

6. Prepare your life and get ready to minister unto God

7. Look unto God and the worship leader, and at the same time listen to how God leads you. Do not focus too much on your instruments but focus on God

8. The musician should sing along while he/she plays the music

9. Musician/s should come earlier so that he/she can prepare well his/her heart, musical instrument, etc

10. Be meek, humble and responsible
