Power of Holy Spirit for Life & Ministry
Over the past few months, the Lord has impressed upon my heart ever increasingly with the necessity of the power of the Holy Spirit in our life and ministry. Throughout my nineteen year spiritual journey, I have witnessed how powerful it is to have God's presence in our walk and service unto Him....
They have many good plans and strategies but the results are not as fruitful as they should be. On the other hand, I have seen people who serve God diligently and although they realise their limitations, they still try their best for Him. They are not great thinkers, so they pray fervently for God's favour and intervention. God hence is with them and works miraculously for their ministry.
Spiritual power for spiritual warfare
We should not fail to remember that our ministry is spiritual. As we step into God’s Kingdom, the devil counts us as his enemy and he makes every attempt to attack us. He is provoked further when we bring people into God’s Kingdom.
This has been proven by the early church, who made remarkable achievements in evangelism and church planting. Apart from hard work and determination, the key to their success was the power of the Holy Spirit that permeated every sphere of their life. Before they started their burning missions, they were equipped by the power of the Holy Spirit in the upper room (Acts 1:8).
Through an anointed sermon, 3,000 people turned to Christ on the Day of Pentecost. Signs and wonders were normal occurrences. Healing and miracles followed them wherever they went in Jesus’ name. The work of the Holy Spirit was inextricably intertwined with the work of their hands. The presence of God was so tangible that people could not deny that God was real. Imagine what would happen if the same thing happened in our ministry today.
- What would happen if healing became a regular occurrence in our care groups and Sunday service?
- What would happen if people dreamt and received revelation from God?
I believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever more. His power never decreases in this modern day. We are His agent to manifest His power to people.

Paul encouraged the believers in
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:10-12
His anointing is indispensable
We should come to the point where we realise we cannot serve God without His help. His anointing is indispensable. Prayer should not only be a scheduled activity but a lifestyle. I would like to encourage you to fast and pray regularly and plead for God’s strong presence in our midst. We should pray both corporately as a church and individually. I long to see, one day, when new people step into our church, that even before hearing the Gospel, that they will sense the presence of God. Prayer releases the power of God and the mystery of His wisdom.
