My name is Torchie KL (Kittisak Luengingkasut). I was born and raised in
Pioneering Ablaze Ministries International
I have a heart for youth ministry. I love young people. I truly see God’s potentials in each and every young person. It is said that youth make up 60% of today’s world population, but 100% of tomorrow’s! How true is that statement! I am convinced that there is no greater investment in life than equipping and training young people for the work of God in the years to come. If we believe God to see Missions 238 accomplished by 2010, then there is no doubt that every single young person in our churches will play a vital part of getting the job done!
After observing many of the HOPE international churches, I notice that there doesn’t seem to be enough emphasis on youth ministry. I’m neither talking about having more Sunday school programs nor producing another youth activity to ensure young people’s spiritual welfare in a local church. I refer to a well-planned strategies to see today’s young people in our HOPE churches become well trained and equipped; young people who truly understand, appreciate and live out the HOPE vision – to help fulfill the Great Commission by building strong and biblical people to plant strong and biblical churches all over the world. It is important that we help prevent diluting the vision and reinforce a clear vision of the Great Commission in the heart of every single young person in our church.
Now is time to rise up the next generation of HOPE!
I often say that our group is more than just a youth group. We are a community of young people who are passionate about God, people and the Great Commission. We believe in God’s given potential and destiny of every young person. Ablaze Ministries International exists to help today’s young people become all they can be in Christ. They are our future! Our motto clearly sums it all: “Building Today’s Youth, Leaders of the Next Generation”.
Reaching Youth in Western Culture
Church planting in the western world is a challenge. I think building a church in the western context is even more challenging. Much of
One to One Discipleship
The major focus of our youth ministry is therefore on our relationships with every young person in our group. We place a great emphasis on relational youth ministry and one-to-one discipleship. Our ministry is primarily more relational than program or big crowd orientated. We have come to realize that long-term influence with lasting impact comes from significant relationships and role models. Young people look for something deeper, real and authentic. Our youth leaders thus aim to build genuine relationships with them and to allow them to see their exemplary lives so that they will be considered as friends and mentors. We believe that the young people who remain active in the youth ministry will stay, neither because of our creative programming nor some ‘hyped up’ activities, but because of healthy, genuine and Christ-centered relationships.
Building faith-lifting atmosphere
We believe that setting the right kind of atmosphere is a vital ingredient of youth meetings. It starts with the leaders. We must not be boring; but excited, energetic and alive in facilitating the meeting! The element of faith is so crucial. Everything we do has to be done by faith! We always aim for a positive and faith-lifting atmosphere which helps our people experience something new and fresh God is doing in the meeting. In more real sense, we want to create a life-changing experience rather than to organize a youth meeting or gathering.
Youth for the Great Commission
We have recently launched a 10 year project called “Youth for the Great Commission (Y4GC)” which is our missions initiative personalized to the HOPE Missions 238 by 2015 project. This project aims to help mobilize young people across the HOPE movement to be a part of church planting. Through this project, they can get involved in the three following key ministries which are found to be directly relevant to today’s youth.
- Worship, Media & Creative Arts
- Missions & Community Impact
- Discipleship and Leadership Training
We hope to extend our network with other youth groups across our HOPE family. We would like to see a greater level of synergy in youth ministry across the HOPE churches. Together, we can rise up the next generation of HOPE who will continue to carry out the vision of 238 seed churches in every country by 2015 and one million churches in our lifetime.

More recently we have just started a youth service which is an extension service of HBCC on Fridays targeted for local youth in the south of
