[Photos: Hope Prague, Czech Republic English Camp]

Hi, HIM family, it is great to be able to connect once again and to convey my heart and convey our love and greetings to all our family around the world. I like to again share some of the thoughts and share some of the things that we have been working on and we have been teaching and sharing with our people. We just finished our Global Conference in Singapore and I would like to therefore share with you about our core values. Today, I would like to take some thoughts and take some time to communicate and share to you about our core values.

Pastor Simon Eng Video Message

Our Core Value : We are bible-Based

I would like to talk about being Bible-based. We taught about being Bible-based, being word-centred, being biblical in our core values in Singapore.

We want to continue to emphasise and we want to continue to communicate the importance of God’s word in our lives. We are building our church; we are building our movement to be Bible-based. It is our foundation, it is our reference, it is the book that we put our lives on and we really want to put our movement to be a Bible-based movement. It is important for us to continue to dwell in the Bible, we want to emphasise to every one of us around the world, we want to seriously put our heart and effort into knowing the Word of God, studying the Word of God and putting emphasis on what we do and how we build our church, how we run mission, how we even run our lives, our families to be Bible-centred, to be word-centred, to be Bible-based.

Building strong foundation on God's Word

So my dear brothers and sisters and family, I would like to continue to encourage each one of us make sure we are dwelling in the Word of God. You know in a world that is so changeable today, standards, values, life practices are so variable, and there is such a huge mixture of standards today. If we follow the world, we will be lost as well. We like to encourage ourselves, we like to challenge ourselves to be Bible-based.

Our concepts, our teaching, our values must find its roots in the Bible. Build a definite strong foundation and build the structure of our church, structure of our lives around the Word of God as well.

Applying the Word of God

I have been a student of the Bible for 38 years that I have known God and I tell you my career, my family, our children, the church, the things that we base on our lives on, has been on the Bible and it has resulted in tremendous blessings and fruits in our lives. 38 years I continue to testify of the goodness of God through the practice of God’s word, through the receiving of God’s word. I’d like to encourage you therefore, do not neglect this emphasis and do not neglect this principle to study the word.

We preach expository sermons, we have word for life classes, we do our shepherding and our DMM, we do many things based on the Word of God.

Teaching the Words of God

I would like to ask all our pastors, all our leaders around the world, continue to teach our people, emphasise the value of God’s word.

Tell our people they must study the Word of God. It is because the Bible tells us clearly also that in the end times and in the times to come, soon and very soon upon us, we will have false teachers, we will have deceivers, we will have people who speak a different doctrine. And if we are not grounded properly on the Word of God, we will be confused. There is a lot of confusion going on today.

There is a variety of teachings that may be incorrect today. So I like to encourage our people on this core value of ours: be Bible-based. Go back to the Bible; let our leaders, let our members really be taught on how to go back to draw references, draw truth from the Bible. So, brothers and sisters again, as we look into this, I would like to encourage you as an individual: keep your quiet time with God.

Connect Journal Daily Devotion

We have different tools to help us; we have the Connect Journal, you can learn about how to study the Bible personally in your quiet time, how to draw truth, how to draw principles from the Word of God. In our shepherding time, teach them the word, make sure we are sharing, teaching, and highlighting how we can change our lives, transforming our lives according to the Word of God; in our DMM, in our Sunday classes, in motivation classes, and leadership training classes.

Brothers and sisters, we must base our activities and we must base our foundation on the Word of God. It will help us build a church that will last. It will help us to build in values in our lives that will enable us to last.

Living a victorious life

All of us remember in Matthew 4, when Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness, he quoted the Word of God back to the enemy, to the devil. He quoted the verses, he quoted the Scripture. We need to be people so well versed with the Word of God that we will be able to give the Word of God, feed the Word of God to our people. And brothers and sisters, the Word of God will meet our needs. As we study the Word, as we bring the conviction and the truth of the Word of God into our lives. We will find that by drawing on these principles, living out these principles, the Word of God actually fills our lives.

The Word of God meets our needs; the Word of God enables us to grow strong. The Word of God will teach us how to be victorious in living life through everyday situations.

Brothers and sisters, once again, my dear family, I really want to share with you, go back to the Word of God, take serious efforts to study the Word of God and get to know what is really in the Word. As I have emphasised, I have travelled around in various parts of the world and visiting our churches and I am really glad the pastors commit themselves to the Word of God. I like us to continue on, I like us to really focus, get a handle on the Word of God because it will be a tremendous blessing for you now and forevermore.

Establishing Bible schools

We are hoping to be able to establish good Bible schools in our regional centres around the world so that we can get our people to study further, draw deeper on the Word of God and be able to really understand truth correctly and carefully. If you would like to know more about the Word know more about our studies etc, please contact brother James Loke in Singapore, you know his email; he is in charge of our materials, about how you can get into the intranet etc. He is the person in Education Group 1 who can help you with these materials and knowledge of our resources.
