PASTOR SIMON ENG MESSAGE: THE CORE PART 1

First Global Conference in Singapore

After our launch in Kuching where we taught on “Leadership that Lasts”, we launched Hope International Ministries or HIM. We are here in Singapore where we just completed our first ever Global Conference, our GC. The topic we touched on was “Core: Revisiting our Core Values, part one”. We are going to do part two in November in Kuala Lumpur. This round we revisited our core values part one. We had a great and incredible time.

Revisiting our core values

First, the attendances: we had in the daytime about 300 plus people. There were about more than 100 international delegates. It was a fantastic time. In the evening, we had a celebration, we had worship, we had ministering and there was close to 700 people. The lessons that we taught in the core were the first five core values.

Five Core Values
  • We are bible-based
  • We are Christ-centred
  • We are covenantal people
  • We are Holy Spirit empowered
  • We are a life-enriching community
We taught about being Bible based whereby we go back to place the value and emphasis on the word of God. We taught about being Christ-centred whereby in everything we do, Christ is centre of who we are and what we do. We taught about being a covenantal community, how to live it out as a covenantal community. We talked about how to be Holy Spirit empowered so that we will not just serve God or plant churches or build our people or walk with God to the end of our days only with the strength of man, but fully with the power of the Holy Spirit. Finally, we did the fifth core value about being a life enriching community. These five were taught to our people to revisit the values, the spirit and the Word. Our people were definitely greatly inspired. Pastor Wilson and Pastor Dennis and of course, myself; the three of us taught and imparted to our people.

Moving in the Holy Spirit

In the night sessions, we also had a wonderful time of ministering. We prayed for people about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we prayed for them about the anointing, lifting to another level of anointing. We prayed about the fivefold ministry, to come forth in our movement, to have the fivefold ministry. We taught about also how to continually move in church planting by the power of the Holy Spirit. We had a great time, the morning sessions were great, and night ministering sessions were great.

People dedicated their lives to the Lord again, to surrender their lives, to follow Jesus, to be fully Christ-centred, surrender ourselves, accept the Lordship of Jesus in our lives. It has been a great and incredible time.

International delegates

We had leaders who came from the US. We had Albert from New York with his team, Ben and Dinah, of course, represented North America. We also had leaders from Europe this time. Pastor PK, Kim and the London team came. We had Marcus and Matthias from Germany coming. It was a great time. We had Oceania – Pastor Wilson, Ian, Mark, Brendan and Shen Ye - great fellowship together. So we had good representation from people around our churches from around the world.

Fantastic fellowship in Singapore

Hope Singapore did a fantastic job. Pastor Jeff, Claudia and his team of people were incredibly hospitable. They fed us until we had all kinds of food until everybody could not finish their food. We had great fellowship. We had city tours, a riverboat tour. And on the final night, we went on a night safari to see all these interesting animals. So it has just been the spirit of the church in Hope Singapore as well where it really reveals our Hope family spirit. Ministering, enjoying, and fellowshipping – I think everyone of the overseas delegates who came was blessed.

Moving Forward in HIM

Brothers and sisters, I want to report too that we are doing fine. After the launch of Hope International Ministries, we have continued to move on. Our churches have continued to strengthen and grow. Our people are excited about the new beginning and believing, knowing what God is doing and has done in our new start in HIM. I want to encourage you to continue to prepare for growth in our churches. I want to encourage you to continue to look at the statistics of our church and ensure that our churches are healthy, ready to continue to multiply.

Global Conference in Kuala Lumpur

I want to encourage you in the final Global Conference that is coming in November 26-29; it is going to be in Kuala Lumpur. We are expecting almost 2000 people; and if more overseas delegates come, it will be more than 2000 people to celebrate Core Values number two: revisiting our cores, reteaching our cores and imparting the spirit to our people again. I like to invite you to come. So brothers and sisters, we are having a great time with God.

God is moving, God is confirming. God is speaking to our people, to our churches and we really believe we are going to have a greater year next year.

Hope European Leaders Conference

I want to give you an exciting report about what God’s doing in Hope Europe. I went there for the European Leaders Conference just recently – last week.

I travelled to London and visited our UK churches. Brothers and sisters, the UK churches are growing.

Pastor PK with his pastoral team have restructured UK. The churches are excited, they are forming new centres, they are looking at planting new churches, and they are supporting the churches that have been given to them in Western Europe. Praise God for that.

Then I travelled to Berlin where we had our European Leaders Conference or the ELC.

Once again, I stayed with Pastor Marcus, Stefanie and his team. We had the leadership team came and we talked, we fellowshipped. We talked about the situation that has happened, we have clarified the facts and the situations and the developments as well. And the team in Germany are really excited. They are focussed; they are clear about what they want to do. I am so excited to see what is happening in Western Europe and Eastern Europe as well. They are working hard to support our smaller churches around Europe. I can see them sincerely and honestly and faithfully trying to do the task as well. The ELC was really good.

Church planting in Europe

We had more than 100 leaders of our churches in Europe come together. We taught, we spoke and we ministered at the leadership level and above.

I tell you it was a great time. We had Tor and Wanda, Tonje, we had the team from Utrecht - Albert could not make it because he is expecting his baby, but the team from Utrecht team came. We had the Italian team, we had our team who visited Paris, and we had the London team who went over to Ireland. So God is doing great things in Europe. We can really see brothers and sisters, their encouragement to us; their inspiration to us is “are we doing the same all around the world, where we are responsible for the regions of the world”? They are challenging us; they are inspiring us to move as fast as they can, to move as strategically as they can.

[Hope Germany Fest 2009 in Stuttgart]

Brothers and sisters, the European continent and our churches there have really been a great inspiration. I want to convey that to you. Pray for them, of course, with their growing and expanding, more leaders and resources are needed and they believe God to really be with them for their work there. I am excited to tell you that is what is happening around in Hope Europe. God bless you, til we talk to you again, amen.
