JUMP CONCERT : JESUS, U MUST PRAISE

JUMP stands for “Jesus, U Must Praise.” It is Hope Church Singapore’s contextualised version of the “Power of Praise” praise and worship outreach concerts. Our first concert took place last year.

JUMP 2008 was our inaugural outdoor praise and worship concert, held at Fort Canning Park on the evening of 22 August. It involved people from most parts of our diverse congregation working together.



In doing so, we encountered the supernatural wonder of God. It was raining throughout the week of the event. We were wondering if we were able to go ahead, as it was raining on the day of the event. However, we prayed and prayed, trusting in God to do something beyond us. Around 6pm, while were in the middle of another rain shower, we sang “How Great Is Our God” before praying over the situation. Miraculously, the rain pretty much stopped by the time we said the last amen and just in time. Praise the Lord!



After opening the entrance, imagine around 2500 people singing together songs that exalt the name of Jesus as well as worshipping Him like never before.

Other highlights of JUMP 2008 included one of our Filipino members sharing a powerful life changing story relating to herself and her family; the debut of our Hope Symphonic Band – made up of brass, string and woodwind instrumentalists.

Towards the end of the concert, we could even see some fireworks peeking above the trees from the nearby Singapore Fireworks Festival.




By the end of the event, we were left blown away by the goodness of God; as well as the wonderful support of all who were present. It was truly a memorable event and milestone of Hope Church Singapore’s seventeen years of existence.
