HOPE VANCOUVER - HOMELESS MINISTRY
Hope Vancouver a place for Homeless
My Passion for the Homeless
On April 2004, my life changed when I walked into Hope of God Vancouver in Port Coquitlam. It is an old building with heavy wooden tables and not so comfortable chairs, but it is filled with a lot of warm hearts. I felt a sense of belonging, I felt at home.

Homeless, I saw a lot of Homeless people coming in to join us for lunch. I was touched. This place is special, they welcomed everyone. From that day on, I became a servant of God.

Compassion for the disadvantaged

Lives transformed through this ministry.
God is wonderful. He uses us to bring Hope to the Homeless.....

- Hope for Don, who was touched by our baby sister, Caroline, who gave him a piece of candy.
- Hope for Dorothy, who was able to spend some wonderful time in the church with her son, Little Johnny, who is living with foster parents. Many, many poems were written by her to praise God.
- Hope for Shane, who got to play guitar and enjoy music with our worship team members, Derek and Vince.
- Hope for Johnny, who realised that someone does care for him when Pastor Lan gave him a haircut.
- Hope for Jeannie and Tom, who used to live in a van. Our sisters Sandra and Christine used to pack them extra food for dinner. Last year, Jeannie and Tom joined our Christmas Choir and found a place to live.

- Hope for Ken, who had a car accident and was left in a coma. Our sister Wanna, who is working at the hospital where he stayed, prayed for him and talked to him every day. He recovered from the coma and is now receiving rehabilitation to improve his speech coordination.
- Hope for Dianne, Mark, and Robert, who were so grateful because the few photos I have printed mean so much to them.
- Hope for Jake, who had a wonderful time worshipping God alongside Pastor William.
- Hope for Erwin, who, the first time I met him, showed me the many scars on his body and said, "I don't believe in God, I believe in myself." Now he joins us regularly at lunch, and one time he handed out stuffed animals to our baby sister, Christina.
- Hope for Steve, who came in and told us he was in rehab and was sober for 71 days and counting.....
- Hope for Ray, who always came to our church with a thankful heart. Our sister Karen told me he has found a job and a place to stay.

I thank God for all the brothers and sisters who open their hearts to care for the Homeless. Every little thing that we do for them brings a little Hope and Joy into their lives. The more I serve them, the more I can feel the pain and suffering they are going through. Jesus, give me strength and courage, and let your servant know what's needed to be done.

Love in Christ
