HOPE MYANMAR CAMP: A SACRIFICE CHURCH (CAN)

Pastor Ratchakit Sikharerithakul is a Hill Tribal Missions Coordinator in Hope Bangkok. He is of Hmong tribal origin. He has a great burden to see all the tribal people in Thailand and around the world know Christ. He regularly travels throughout the Thai mountainside to preach to the hill tribe people and plant churches. He has been happily married to Yanee for 18 years and they have two boys called Acts and Hand.

Hope of Myanmar Church’s annual camp was held in March 26th-30th 2008. Pastor Ratchakit was the keynote speaker. The theme of the camp was called “A Sacrificial Church”. There were 200 Burmese people attending the camp from all over the country. There were three Hope churches and six pioneering centres joining at the camp. Some members travelled 25 hours on the train in order to attend the camp. Other members had saved a year’s worth of their income to attend the camp.

Pastor Ratchakit shared about:

  • Living a sacrificial life for God
  • Serving God with a sacrificial heart
  • Putting God first in our life
The members were inspired to live for God and sacrifice their lives to expand God’s kingdom in Myanmar. Many people dedicated their lives toward missions in Myanmar during the altar call. One of the highlights of the camp was to see 13 people getting water baptised. Some fun activities at the camp included Hope Games and Special Talents night dinner. There was a great time of fellowship at the camp, sharing their life stories and God’s goodness.

At the end of the camp, there were many tears among the members as they farewelled each other. The camp was filled with the love of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit. Everyone did not want to leave camp and promised to return for next year’s camp.
