A LOYAL CHURCH - TESTIMONY

By Ps. Denis

Hi Everyone! Our leader’s conference on “A Loyal Church” was fabulous. I believed that many were refreshed, not only by the teachings, but also through being renewed by the presence of God. We were also encouraged by renewed friendship from around the world! Personally, my spirit was invigorated and I received God’s Rhema word too!

We enjoyed the conference very much. The teachings were balanced and direct. They caused me to evaluate our own loyalty to God and to his church. On the other hand, it only challenged me to note that I cannot demand loyalty from the people that I worked with; I must earn it. From Dr. Wilson’s preaching, we learned how King David inspired loyalty from his mighty men. Besides the teachings, we also enjoyed the fellowship. We were grateful for the time spent with our International Elders and pastors from all over the globe. Their war stories of ministry and life challenges inspired me to move on for Jesus and His Kingdom. Thank God for our Movement!

God has spoken to me through the teachings at this LC. It was not just information given to me but also a fresh touch from God. I am very impressed particularly by how David was loyal to Saul. Though Saul treated him badly and unfairly, David kept the right attitude towards Saul all the time. Even when Saul was dead, David was not happy nor did he think that God had taken vengeance for him. In fact, David grieved deeply. He also took good care of Saul’s descendants. No wonder why David was called a man after God’s own heart. God blesses people because of their attitude.

I am so blessed by the topic of this LC. The teaching reminds me once again that loyalty is the basis of our relationship to God. Loyalty is a choice that our hearts make; hence loyalty is a decision that we alone can make. If we understand this well, then we will learn to love others correctly. As Ps. Simon said, as leaders, we cannot buy loyalty; we must earn it by our lives. May God help us to be more loyal to the people around us so that we can lead them to know Christ more and more.

This was my second Leaders Conference. The topic is very relevant for Germans, and a special one for me. The biblical truth of loyalty stirred up my heart. It will help me to break through the mindset of independence in Germany, which acts as a barrier to evangelising to the people. Besides that, the entire atmosphere of LC was very encouraging: the testimonies and sharing from all the delegates. Praise the Lord! LC was very inspiring and a great chance to network with other family members.

Last, but not least, was the Workshop on spotting and raising leaders, which was very helpful. It gave me a clear picture of how to train people to take responsibility in the church. All in all, the LC refreshed me to persevere for ministry! Thanks!

As a leader of a Hope of God Church, I am always excited to join our leaders’ conference because it is a special time to fellowship with God together with most of the leaders in our movement. At the same time, I can fellowship with the elders and fellow pastors and leaders from many parts of the world. It is an inspiring and encouraging time when we join together as one and share from our lives in serving God to one another.

Besides these blessings, we also have leaders meeting, workshops and seminars which challenge us to move forward. Our churches never stops moving; we always aim for the Great Commission. We are also able to see the church progress in the bigger picture, which strengthens us. We also have spiritual food that feeds us and make us strong and healthy to go back to our own countries and churches to continue the task.

This time we studied the topic of Loyalty. Praise God! Every time I study the Word of God through Leaders’ Conference (LC), I always gain a deeper understanding of the topics covered at the LC. I am able to examine what is happening in my life and our church in order to surrender to God more and help others with clearer understanding. I learned how to pass the test and keep my loyalty to God, leaders over me, my family and church. I also learned how to maintain true loyalty in difficult times. I can say that this topic helped me to trust our leaders more.

By Ps. Lance & Belle

We really enjoyed the practical insightful teaching. Belle and I were really encouraged to see the areas of our lives that we need to change in order to build churches with enthusiastically loyal members. Loyal churches are led by loyal leaders who are faithful to the word of God, the vision of God, and obedient to the Holy Spirit. God does not require perfect people, but those who are faithful and available for Him. God can change us, and use us so that he can do anything with our lives. As men and women of God, let’s be loyal to God and loyal to each other. Let’s not quit on the vision. Loyalty is the key to success for believers, leaders, churches and a movement called to fulfil the Great Commission in our lifetime.

By Ps. Brendan

This LC has inspired me to increase my loyalty to God, to his purpose and to our great movement that He has called us to. It has also motivated me to be more diligent in building loyal teams within our church by being a loyal leader, brother and friend, amen!

Rev 2:10 “be faithful to the death and I will give you the crown of life”

By Ps Lan and Dany Foley Hope Melbourne

It is very encouraging to see so many of our leaders who are very committed and very loyal to God. We see that they are also very loyal to the church, the people and the movement to which God has called them to serve. It is a blessing to see the love for the word of God, the degree of unity in the body and the energy given to serve the Lord. In spite of the impossible task, there remains strong and committed obedience, hope and faith in the God of the impossible. This is wonderful!

We cannot build “a loyal church” without understanding the true biblical principle about loyalty. This conference helped us a lot to grow in this area. We truly believe that if we walk righteously in God’s principles, He will bless us and also our ministries and the churches and the people under our care abundantly. We truly commit our lives to God and to our leaders to bringing God’s love and vision to the land we are appointed. We will be the good life example of loyalty.

By Ps Mark Rusic

Loyalty is a most precious character trait. I have not only heard excellent teaching on God's brand of loyalty, but I have personally been thoroughly blessed to rub shoulders with many loyal Hope family members from all over the God at this LC. It is very encouraging to see how many of our leaders have remained loyal over the many years of serving together. May God help us to continue to remain loyal to him over 2008 and beyond in our quest to fulfil the Great Commission. Greetings from Melbourne, Australia to you all.

Pastor John and Lisa Rhodes

“Lisa & I enjoyed again very much the pastors’ conference, Jan. 2008, “A Loyal Church.” The topic coincided with the theme of our church in relationship building and with our personal life experiences at this time. We have been unexpectedly meeting up with many friends from the past including previous members of Hope Sydney. Loyalty reminds us that the Body of Christ is not just an organisation but a network of relationships. The biblical teaching and examples were as always refreshing.”
