Power of Praise 2007
In 2001 Pastor PN saw a marvellous vision from God. It was at night, during the atmosphere of praise and worship at a Bible conference, when he saw a picture of ten thousand people gathering together and worshipping the Mighty God. He heard it as a voice of a great multitude, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundering. From that day, The Bangkok Worship Team started to pray for that vision and the vision had caught our heart…

The vision became a reality through the hard work of Mr. Praveen and his younger brother, a businessman, who shared the same burden and vision as Pastor Prayuth Sariman, the Worship’s Pastor of Hope of Bangkok Church. Brother Simon coordinated all of them to meet, and share their own vision. The first Power of Praise was held in October 2002, at The Indoor Stadium (an indoor sport complex) located in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Power of Praise 2007 in Bangkok was a fantastic LIVE praise and worship concert. An audience of 6,000 came to the Indoor Stadium Sport Complex to attend the concert and over 200 non-believing friends accepted Christ on that day. Two hours of Praise and Worship drew people deeper in love with God’s presence and a joyful spirit moved around that place. The Concert started with the audience standing to honour His Majesty, The King of Thailand, followed by Pastor Kenny (Prayuth) leading the crowd to sing “Majesty” (Planetshakers).
Hope Philharmonic Orchestra
The Hope of Bangkok Philharmonic Orchestra was established in 1998 by Pastor Prayuth Sariman and a handful of members who were interested in joining.

The one thing that everyone said was: “It is a very big task”. They faced many difficulties due to a lack of technical expertise and very limited musical experience. This meant that all the members had to start from scratch.
They were introduced to many musical instruments that they had never seen or heard before: violins, cellos, oboes etc. This posed a challenge since all these instruments form an important part of any orchestra.
The first thing they did was to buy a violin book and read it from page to page. From this book, the team tried to learn how to correctly hold their violins, how to position their fingers and to be able the right notes.
However the lack of formal training meant that the team did not have the correct technique to play the violin well. However one day, one of the members, Michael, sacrificed his time and money to study with a proper music teacher. The skills he learnt, he used to guide and teach the other members to improve their violin skills.
Pastor Prayuth encouraged another member, a brother by the name of Pichet Waitakul, to study music at one of the most famous universities in Thailand. In the end, the brother finally graduated with a major in the violin. Through his musical background, Pichet was able to impart his knowledge to the other members and encouraged them to follow his footsteps. Today we have many members studying or graduating with a major in music

We now have around 60 musicians in the Hope of Bangkok Philharmonic Orchestra. There is much diversity in the team: businessmen, bank officers, stock brokers, secretaries, news reporters, graphic designers, teachers, event organisers, housekeepers, students, musicians and salesman, with the members aged between 14 to 45 years old.
Despite having different backgrounds, the orchestra has the same heart and vision: to give the highest honour to God through their music. They work hard to reach their goals by having team rehearsals every Sunday and Sunday evening, with individual musicians spending another 10 hours practicing every week. They have been developing their skills for the past nine years so that one day, they will become a world class orchestra.
