MINISTRY FAIR 2007: SHAPED FOR MINISTRY
Ministry Fair is like a job fair designed for church departments to showcase the various activities and achievements of their ministries, to describe the roles that prospective volunteers will play, and recruit new members to join the team.
Rick Warren once said “The reason many people don’t serve is because they are not invited or prepared.” Ministry Fair has been running in Hope Brisbane since 2003 and the number of people involved in Ministry has been increasing from that point on.
In 2007, we had over 300 people participate in Ministry Fair. Over 20 departments and sub-departments displayed the role their respective teams play in the church and over 120 people volunteered for new ministries. The theme for this year’s ministry fair was “SHAPED FOR MINISTRY”.
Some of the reasons why we serve as highlighted by Ps. Wilson LIM included:
- We serve as it fulfils our purpose in God;
- We serve as it obeys God's command;
- We serve as it is godly stewardship;
- We serve as it reflects God's heart.”
We are about church growth, church multiplication, church planting and much more!
This department plans and organises various fund raising activities from individual units to church wide efforts. We also communicate the various building stages of Unidus Community Centre to the church and public. This department truly believes in the dream that God has given us and we endeavour to use all means available to make Unidus a reality. The main committee is known as the DREAM team.
Our vision is to build strong biblical children who will grow up to be of godly character, responsible adults in the community and in God’s kingdom. They would in turn be a good and powerful influence to people in their generation and generations to come.
The Membership Administration department organise classes and put together the personalised welcome packs for all the new members.
Prayers are indispensable in God’s church. When we pray, God does the impossible! “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30. As it is God’s desire to see His people rising up in intercession, this ministry seeks to help you develop both heart and skills of intercessory prayer.
The vision of the Event Management Ministry is to empower and equip a group of people to organise life-changing events with the spirit of excellence and the heart of servanthood in bringing God's love and truth to the church and the community.
This ministry caters towards the Visual requirements of the Church. We are responsible for the PW Slides, Multimedia, Announcements and Sermons for audiences both in Church Service and Corporate Prayer Meetings. We are currently assimilating the Video Ministry into the Visuals Department in order to provide Video Broadcast to Mother's room, Overflow room and in the future, Cyber Space and CD Production of Services. Our ministry is also gearing up towards producing and providing Training / Materials for our daughter Churches and other establishing
The Worship, Arts & Media (WAM) ministry is here to support and enhance all the ministries of Hope Brisbane Christian Church with a wide range of quality worship set, vocal, dance, media & musical productions, creative design and dramatic arts. Our mission is to make these ministries available to anyone who feel called to these areas of church life and to mobilise them to create church-wide productions with a high level of artistic excellence. With this goal in mind, each year we plan to produce media & multimedia presentations & live song, drama and dance performances. We have a vision to build an artistic community of talented believers, who worship the Lord wholeheartedly and who love to serve, be equipped, prepared and launched for the work of God, using their gifts and skills to help fulfil the Great Commission through every possible creative & artistic means. WAM is designed to provide opportunities of service where artists can minister to each other, to the church, and to the community.
We are like the spokes of a wheel that holds the church together. We provide support, tools and processes to facilitate the growth and changing needs of the church. Faculties within the Administration Department include finance, communications, human resource, church office.
Hands of Hope is the community branch of Hope Brisbane Christian Church. It exists to demonstrate the love of God in a tangible way to the community. We desire to make a real difference to people’s lives through helping in practical ways, meeting needs, and providing support for families and individuals to rebuild their lives.
Our mission statement is to develop each Spirit: Man; Empower Strong and Biblical People; Facilitate Spiritual Development
At the end of the ministry fair, recruitment and induction were performed to help place people into relevant ministries and to help train them for their new roles.
